Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse ProgramCommonwealth Care Alliance is committed to preventing, detecting, identifying, and reporting suspected cases of fraud, waste, and abuse. We look to our providers to assist us in this endeavor. Commonwealth Care Alliance's first tier, downstream, and related entities are required to take general compliance and fraud, waste, and abuse training. However, if you, as a provider, are enrolled in the Medicare Part A or B program, the fraud, waste, and abuse training and education requirement has already been satisfied. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has developed a training program "Medicare Parts C and D Fraud, Waste and Abuse and General Compliance Training." A link to this training document can also be found below. We ask that all of your employees who provide services to Commonwealth Care Alliance and/or its members take this training on an annual basis. There is a "Certificate of Completion" at the end of the training. Please ask each employee to complete this required training and this certificate, and maintain a copy of the certificate in their records. Commonwealth Care Alliance reserves the right to request verification that all of your employees have completed this training. Commonwealth Care Alliance's policies and procedures are available to providers upon request. If you have any questions regarding this training, fraud, waste or abuse, would like access to a policy and procedure, or any other compliance-related questions please contact Commonwealth Care Alliance's Department of Regulatory Affairs and Compliance at (617) 426-0600 or via email. Please note: any confidential or anonymous concerns should be reported to Commonwealth Care Alliance via the Compliance Hotline 1-800-826-6762. Compliance and Fraud, Waste and Abuse Program Resources
