Notes on Enrolling in the Senior Care Options

Once you are enrolled in the Senior Care Options HMO program, you must retain your current eligibility for Medicare and MassHealth. However, you will receive your Medicare and MassHealth services exclusively through Commonwealth Care Alliance. If you have private health insurance, you may find that you no longer require the additional health insurance coverage. If you decide to cancel it, your family members, doctor, or team may help you make that decision.

Disenrollment

Enrollment in our Senior Care Options program (HMO SNP) is completely voluntary. Similarly, if you wish to disenroll at any point in time you may do so. Voluntary disenrollment becomes effective on the first day of the month after the written request is received by Commonwealth Care Alliance. You are required to continue to obtain all services through Commonwealth Care Alliance and our contracted network of providers and facilities until your disenrollment becomes effective.
